How do you know what a site is like before you turn up? You ask around, you roll the dice, and if the portaloo is a health hazard and there is nowhere to park, you find out the hard way. Share a site with SiteJobs ends the guesswork. The people already on the site tell you what it is like.
What Is Share a site?
Share a site is a free map of construction sites reviewed by the workers on them. Every site is a dot on the map. Green dot means people on site have confirmed it is real. Orange dot means it is waiting for a second person on site to confirm it. Tap a dot and you see the honest picture: what the canteen is like, whether the portaloo is cleaned, if there is parking, and more.
How to Share a Construction Site (step by step)
- Register free on SiteJobs as a worker or employer.
- Open your account and tap the Share a Site tab.
- Tap the + Add a site button and type the site name.
- Pick the main contractor from the list if you know it.
- Drag the blue pin to the site location on the map. The pin can move up to 150 metres from where you are standing, because you must be on site to add it. We check your GPS once, only for this.
- Tap Add site. Your site appears on the map straight away.
- Tap the Share button and send it to your colleagues on WhatsApp or Telegram. When a second person on site confirms it, the dot turns green.
How to Review a Construction Site (step by step)
- Open your account and tap the Share a Site tab.
- Tap any dot on the map. Green dots are confirmed sites, orange dots are waiting for confirmation.
- If the site is orange and you are on it, tap I'm on site, confirm too. Your GPS is checked once, within 150 metres, and the site turns green.
- Once the site is confirmed, vote on what it is really like: the canteen, the portaloo, parking, the kitchen and more. Tap the thumbs up for good, thumbs down for bad.
- See something wrong? Use the report button on the site and tell us what needs fixing.
What Gets Reviewed
Ten things that decide whether a site is a good site or a miserable one:
- The canteen: food, hot water, clean tables
- The portaloo factor: cleaned regularly or a health hazard
- Parking and commute
- Welfare and changing rooms
- The charge factor: enough sockets for tool batteries, decent signal
- Security and storage: can you lock your tools up overnight
- Drinking water near the work area
- Induction and admin: smooth sign-in or half a day waiting
- Coffee and food nearby
- Kitchen facilities
Simple thumbs up or thumbs down. The numbers show what people actually think.
You Must Be on Site
Share a site is built on truth, so you can only add or confirm a site if you are physically on it. Your GPS is checked once at that moment, within 150 metres, and never again. No reviews from the sofa.
Built by Workers, for Workers
Share a site is free for registered workers and employers. Add your site, vote honestly, and help the next worker know what they are walking into.
Open the Share a site map or find it in your SiteJobs account.
