How to Start a Conversation

You don't need to be an expert. You just need to care enough to ask.

Ask

"You alright, mate?" Simple. Direct. Ask again if the first answer is "fine." Ask "No, really - how are you?"

Listen

Don't interrupt. Don't judge. Don't try to fix it straight away. Just listen. Sometimes that's all someone needs.

Signpost

Building Mental Health Awareness

Construction has one of the highest suicide rates of any industry in the UK. That's not a statistic. That's your mates, your colleagues, your family.

Talking about mental health isn't soft. It's the strongest thing you can do. For yourself and for the people around you.

It's Okay Not to Be Okay

Whatever you're going through - stress, debt, injury, loss, or just feeling overwhelmed - help is there. Free. Confidential. 24/7. No judgement.
